Welcome

About this Site…

“There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.”  – Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

Conversion on the Way to Damascus’ by Caravaggio (1601 A.D.) for the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome.

The quote above by Archbishop Sheen might initially seem to be a gross exaggeration.  I can’t speak for the millions of others, but I know that it was true for me.  Maybe it is true for you too?  If so, this site was created especially with you in mind.  It is my humble attempt to share the richness and the fullness of the Catholic faith to those who do not yet know it, especially those who may even be hostile to it, as I once was.

Hopefully, Catholics will also find the content beneficial in fortifying their faith.  I openly admit at the outset that I am a layman who is lacking in formal theological education.  I can therefore offer no expertise of my own, only arguments that I find compelling and experiences that might be inspiring.  I am always open to learning more, and I hope to continue to do so through the comments and input of the visitors of this site.

Like St. Paul, I now find as the center of my life the very faith I once sought to destroy.  I ask his intercession as I pray that by the grace of God, this site be beneficial in some way to all who are seeking the unity which our Lord Jesus Christ prayed for in the Garden of Gethsemane… Amen.

  About the Author…

My name is Michael David and I am a young adult who was received into full communion with the Catholic Church about 8 years ago.  You can read my conversion story here.  I am blessed to be a husband to an incredible wife (who is a cantor that I met after mass) and a father to three wonderful young children.  I work as a registered nurse in the Baltimore, Maryland area.  In addition to my daily Catholic spiritual pursuits, I enjoy spending time with my family, organic gardening, biking, swimming, and playing Celtic harp.  I am currently learning Latin in preparation for our children’s Classical Catholic home-school/c0-0p curriculum.  In the past I have volunteered at Church as a junior high catechist and currently volunteer as a marriage prep facilitator.
